Untitled[edit]

What is the proper pronunciation of Stroget?

"stroy-it" .. kind of - Ronson

---

I don't agree with the translation of Strøget to "The stroke". I believe it more correctly, in contemporary Danish language and historically to be "The Sweep". Similar, but subtly different. As in『vinden har strøget ned at gaden』since stroke in Danish would most correctly be translated to "slag",『stød』and not the sweepinging movement associated with many people walking up and down the streets. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.92.94.23 (talk) 15:03, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"The beginning of a major change in the approach of Copenhagen to urban life"[edit]

I am commenting out this wrong analysis:

"The pedestrianisation of Strøget in 1962 marked the beginning of a major change in the approach of Copenhagen to urban life; following the success of the initiative the city moved to place a much greater emphasis on pedestrian and bicycle access to the city at the expense of cars."

Please reinsert only with sources and supplemented with more neutral analyses. --Madglad (talk) 17:41, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
