"Unlike the other games in the series, the power-up icons are now represented by the actual weapons wielded by the character instead of the traditional letter-based falcon capsules (the NES version reverted back to the old icons)" - this is not strictly true - it should be noted that in the original arcade version of Gryzor/Contra, the machine gun and laser power ups were both represented by guns, not by falcon-icons. The flame weapon and spread gun (and of course barrier, but that is not a weapon!) were the only two represented by falcon-icons. Christian W Cooper (talk) 13:27, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
