Southern Cross television tasmania appears to be the name most people know the station by, TNT 9 is hardly known by the wider public. There is no reference to it when they broadcast....richard
I know that is true, however I'm not the one who wrote the WP guidelines (and I know I was initially surprised, after being pointed to it) - even though no Australian commercial stations (apart from Southern Cross GTS/BKN) are known by their callsigns (see HSV-7 precedent above). This is why the individual capitals' 7's, 9's and 10's are still under call-signs, as is Southern Cross Darwin (TND-34). -Spiky Sharkie[ talk ]07:14, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
TNT9 should definitely only be the redirect. No one knows it by that name it is always called Southern Cross TV (Tasmania). Guidelines should be altered if they're the problem.Mike
IMHO:
Technically, TNT-9 should be the article name - if the article is to be about the history of the station in Launceston. It has been called that since its inception and is still called that now in Southern Cross Broadcasting's annual reports.
Whichever is decided - the cut-and-paste copy should be fixed first to retain the history of the article - I might even do this now, just to make sure nothing is lost. -- Chuq04:21, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
