Length of river in Portugal

[edit]

According to the figure given, the tabus has only 100 km in Portugal. this is not true. I will atempt to locate a realiable source Brooklyn Nellie (Nricardo) 05:23, Apr 2, 2004 (UTC)

What River?

[edit]

There is a canal and aqueduct between the Tagus and the river. If not the Tagus, what river is referred to here? Rojomoke (talk) 17:05, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, found it in the history. The Segura. Rojomoke (talk) 17:09, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Arriba Tejo?

[edit]

Ribatejo comes directly from riba and Tejo, where riba means "bank, shore" (latin ripa), other derivated words are ribeira (<riparia). For instance, in Asturias (Spain) you have the village Ribadesella, literally "shore of the Sella (river)". It is also true that in many romance languages "arriba" or related means "up" or "upper" (from ad ripa), but this is a semantic shift, and anachronic respect of these toponyms.91.117.8.27 (talk) 13:14, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Animal life

[edit]

Animal life near the river is abundant and diverse, you should definetely add a subtitle and article about it. Hedyhyry (talk) 10:23, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Galician and Mirandese name

[edit]

This seems to be copied from the Galician and Mirandese Wikipedias. They just happen to include the words Río and Riu, which mean "river", in the article names. However, that doesn't mean they are essential when talking about the Tagus. --2001:16B8:3183:4200:2005:A647:6A89:3214 (talk) 14:20, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
