How exactly are we defining terrorism here? Were there really 65 terrorist incidents in 2012? The Toulouse shootings certainly made the news but what were all these others? 108.254.160.23 (talk) 06:47, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The definition of terrorism used here, or at least used in the table of the number of number of incidents, deaths and in juries from 1970 to 2015, is that used for the Global Terrorism Database (GTD), managed by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism.
No definition and measurement methodology are perfect. The GTD article mentions some of the criticism. Still, it's better than nothing as long as we understand its limitations. DavidMCEddy (talk) 16:11, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting[edit]

What happened with formatting for this article and how do you fix it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kolmias (talkcontribs) 10:58, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Strasbourg shooting[edit]

Someone has forgotten to add the 2018 Strasbourg attack to the list. The terror attack killed 4 people when the terrorist used a gun at the Christmas Market. Bubba2018 (talk) 01:36, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Don't know since when, but that attack is in the list now. A Thousand Words (talk) 07:22, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Annual reports on terrorism in France?[edit]

Do French authorities like Gendarmerie Nationale or the PNAT publish annual reports on terrorist incidents, like Europol does in their Europol Terrorism Situation and Trend reports which have been published every year for more than a decade? A Thousand Words (talk) 07:23, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reign of Terror[edit]

State-sponsored terrorism has its Jacobins origins in founding the French Republic, so why should only Basque or Islamic terrorism be discussed? Even if there's no direct line between the original expression and present enormities, Jacobins, Basque separatists and various Islamic sects were/are responsible for terrorism in France. If some pretend that 'bygones should be bygones', it is a disservice to NPOV truth. 76.177.11.75 (talk) 09:40, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
