Do the football links really belong on the main article page? -Frank Burdett

I think it's OK because most people looking for those clubs would look for them by their proper names, rather than nicknames.Grant65 (Talk) 01:04, Oct 2, 2004 (UTC)

Would anyone have an objection to my creating a Disambiguation Page for The Saints? I would then remove the "Other" section from this article. Would do so Feb 1, 2006 if no one complains before then. B00P 11:03, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like an excellent idea to me. Cheers, Ian Rose 11:18, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. B00P 23:06, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps it should be mentioned that Algy Ward went on to play bass in NWOBHM band Tank.

Formation[edit]

Anyone got a citation for the year of formation? Lots of sources cite '77, which is indisputably false; they certainly existed as early as '74, and I've heard as early as '72. Any sources at all for this? -Switch t 14:18, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Im Stranded.jpg[edit]

Image:Im Stranded.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:52, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed major edits[edit]

As an ARIA Hall of Famer, the band deserves a B-class (or better) article. I intend making major edits over the next two weeks or so to improve this article: other editors are welcome to contribute.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 21:00, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As the bloke who added much of the cited material (including the Bob Geldof quote, very chuffed at the time with that one!) on the band's earliest years, I look forward to someone spending the necessary time to upgrade the article as a whole. Among other things it does look very piecemeal now as people have separated album timeframes into their own (quite small) subsections. Anyway, if you put in the research and writing, I'll be happy to look over and copyedit if required. Cheers and good luck! Ian Rose (talk) 23:26, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've finished my major edits and welcome a thorough copy edit. I've re-assessed the article as B-class and moved the discography to its own article. Some material could use a citation but I'll let other editors take it up to GA class if they wish: I'm done for now.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 11:42, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Active till Bailey's death?[edit]

The article says "The Saints continued to record and perform up to Bailey's death in April 2022." But the last recording listed (even in the discography page) was released in 2012 and the last live show mentioned was in 2013.

Bob geldof quote on the saints[edit]

Shouldn’t this page mention the critical role the saints played in the foundation of punk. Sure other bands are older but they weren’t punk ..

they only later (after saints) moved into the punk Style … it’s like how guns an roses where a glamour rock bank like kiss an poison, before they moved into metal after rose tattoo guided them. & let them cover his songs.

So can someone Please add the quote from bob geldof & link to main page & references. Sir Bob Geldof famously stated that rock music in the ’70s was altered by three bands: Sex Pistols, The Ramones, and The Saints.”

& link.

Right-aligned quote[edit]

I've converted this right-aligned quoteto{{blockquote}} but it's not appearing as a right-aligned quote like it used to,

I've messed about in preview changing it to Cquote with right parems but nothing's worked so if someone can fix this that would be grand,

The previous HTML way was showing as a high priority task in WP:WPCleaner and needed replacing, Many thanks, Regards, –Davey2010Talk 21:58, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
