"The GTA series had appeared on PlayStation 2 and Xbox, but had never made it to the Nintendo GameCube, due to Nintendo's longstanding policy of generally shunning adult content. The Simpsons Hit & Run is therefore the closest approach to GTA possible on the GameCube."
What about True Crime: Streets of LA? That could be seen as a GTA clone which was released for the Gamecube.
This is a trivial subject for an article.
...and why are there threedifferentarticles on it? Trivial or not, if it's staying, shouldn't they be merged? Azure Haights 18:48, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
Ok, I stand corrected, 'n' redirects to here. But should the other article still be merged? Azure Haights 19:07, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
I made the third one a redirect here, and moved a bit of text that seemed not duplicated to this article-- though it seems somewhat contradictary. I hope someone knowledgeable about the game can sort it out. -- Infrogmation 19:17, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I think the whole paragraph discussing GTA is a) nothing but conjecture and b) outright inaccurate, as Nintendo has approved many very GTA-like games, and the lack of its availablity on Nintendo's platform is at best only partially due to the actual violent content of the game. On top of this, the game under discussion is available for all of the major gaming platforms, not just the Gamecube. The argument doesn't seem to hold weight, so I'm cutting out that part of the discussion. Tsunomon14:37, 28 September 2005 (UTC)Tsunomon[reply]
Character info
Do we really need as much detail on the characters as is given here? A simple list will do, as with the other games. Each of the characters has their own article so there's no need to just copy and paste from the instruction manual/GameFAQs. --L T Dangerous18:22, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The game was not "well recieved", it had numerous bad reviews along with the good reviews. Then theres the case of the unnecesary FAQ-like information in it. If we analize this article, all in all, theres very little real info.
What were these bad reviews? The game received widely positive reviews, I want a link to the numerous bad reviews. Gran208:15, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"The last Simpsons game ever made for a console"? Highly dubious.[edit]
Can we change the caption to the picture comparing SHAR to GTA? While I agree gameplay is similar, having a radar and an emphasis on driving is not the best way of arguing this similarity. Mattyp9999 (talk) 13:35, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Should there be a mention of the active modding community? Its been started by a group of friends who call themselves Donut Team. They have a mod called Donut Mod which changes pretty much everything about the game, and there are many mods being made everyday by the community.
