Reference ideas for Toy Story 3
The following references may be useful when improving this article in the future:
In addition to the tracks included in the soundtrack album, the film also uses several other tracks such as "Dream Weaver" by Gary Wright,[6] "Le Freak" by Chic,[7] and Randy Newman's original version of "You've Got a Friend in Me."[7] Furthermore, tracks "Cowboy!" and "Come to Papa" included material from Newman's rejected score to Air Force One.[8] The song "Losing You" from Newman's own album Harps and Angels was also used in the first trailer for the film.[9] The Judas Priest song "Electric Eye" was also used in the film in the temp score for the opening scene of Toy Story 3.[10] The aliens are playing the tune in their sports car. The song was ultimately replaced by Newman's score.
Hi IP, could you please clarify why you think the tracklist shouldn't be present? Do you think it's not appropriate for the article because it's long, or because not every song is used in the movie (I'm not sure whether that is true)? Thanks. Ovinus (talk) 04:25, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

End of 2nd paragraph, re-word text that's untrue (it's only #56 on the list): "With a budget of $200 million, Toy Story 3 is one of the most expensive films of all time." 47.149.189.217 (talk) 23:55, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Plot, end of fifth paragaph: "Lotso is found by Sid, who fastens him to his garbage truck's radiator grille as a decoration: an unlucky fate. Woody and his friends ride Sid's truck back to Andy's." The burly sanitation truck driver[1][2] that discovers Lotso at the end of the film is not the same character as Sid[3]. Aside from a different voice (uncredited) and appearance, that character had also driven off right before the toys see Sid and his truck in the following scene. Requesting the following edit: "Lotso is found by a sanitation truck driver, who fastens him to his garbage truck's radiator grille as a decoration: an unlucky fate. Discovering Sid in the area, Woody and his friends ride his truck back to Andy's.
Attempted fix at screen capture link with additional reference to accompanying scene, though unfortunately ends prematurely before the actual Sid is shown (the full scene takes place between 1:24:00 and 1:25:00 in movie). Ends of the World (talk) 19:43, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
One of the things I might be concerned about is how we should format the voice cast section. Currently, it lists every cast member in bullet points. Based on some GA and FA film-related articles (i.e. RoboCop, The Empire Strikes Back, Back to the Future, etc.), some of the cast sections list the top-billing members in bullet points, with the rest of the cast being listed in prose.
In this case, the film's end credits list Hanks, Allen, Cusack, Rickles, Shawn, Ratzenberger, Harris, Beatty, Keaton, Benson and Morris. After that, there's the longer scrolling cast list which lists everyone. I'm thinking about listing the eleven in bullet points, then move the miscellaneous cast members into the prose. Thoughts? So, I have been thinking about some issues in the plot section we might need to address here. I've also notified WT:FILM and WT:DISNEY for their thoughts.
For example, is Andy's age in this section's opening sentence relevant to be included in the summary (and if not, should it be removed)? Also, "Andy's toys realize their mistake and attempt to leave, but are imprisoned by Buzz, who now believes Lotso is his commander" and "Woody leaves a note for Andy, who assumes the note is from his mother and donates the toys to Bonnie" could be changed to "Andy's toys realize their mistake and attempt to leave, but are imprisoned by Buzz on Lotso's order" and "Andy discovers a note from Woody and, assuming it is from his mother, donates the toys to Bonnie", respectively.
