24?[edit]

I count 21!--Mrg3105 09:49, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Righto. Thanks for pointing that out. Should be fixed. LordAmeth 22:24, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ohama Kagetaka[edit]

Was Ohama one of the 24, thus somehow making a total of 25? As far as I am aware, he was not a member of this elite band of Shingen's most celebrated retainers, though he may still have been a retainer and an important historical figure. LordAmeth 22:17, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uesugi's Twenty-Eight[edit]

I understand that posting on a page that will never be looked at creates an incentive for me not to ask this question, but I nonetheless wonder who the twenty-eight generals of Uesugi are, for simply searching their allocated title on Google presents only a very small handful-amount of hits. User:Exiled Ambition 27 March 2008 (EST)

I'm afraid I don't have the Samurai Sourcebook, or any of Turnbull's other books, with me here in Japan, so I can't look it up. But I believe you do... "Twenty-Eight Generals of Uesugi Kenshin" is, however, as I am sure you must realize, a translation, and a descriptive title at that, not an official group name by any means. Try other searches, such in Japanese, or by searching through individual samurai to see what you come up with. I'm sorry this has remained a red link for so long.
