While a Radioman at COMTRAPAC Communications, at the Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare School (now called CENTER) San Diego (Nimitz Blvd & Harbor Dr, I went aboard TREPANG in 1963-64, which was moored a short distance away from FASWS SDIEGO. There was an old retired CPO who offered us coffee and told a few sea stories to us "relative boots". He mentioned that he did not know what fate held for the TREPANG, but thanked us for visiting. I was saddened to hear of her demise, but as ships go, better sunk than cut up.
