More information about the history (for example) of the company, and less about its products/services etc. Evidence of the company's notability is essential (see Wikipedia:Notability (companies and corporations). All facts should have some citation - e.g. provide a reference to some external website that discusses the company. Ideally this should be in addition to the company's own website. All contributions should be written from a neutral point of view (see WP:NPOV). — Tivedshambo (talk to me/look at me/ignore me) — 20:02, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have just added archive links to one external link on Umpqua Holdings Corporation. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

I noticed some edits I made on this page were deleted. I guess I did something wrong but I am not sure what. I was wondering if another editor could help me in updating this article correctly. Thanks. Marksjacobs (talk) 18:15, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Going by the edit summary, SwisterTwister felt that the content was not neutral and encyclopedic information about the bank, much less about the holding that's the subject of this article, but rather thinly-veiled PR. Given the combination of weak sources, generalizations beyond what the sources say, and promotional fluff, I can't completely disagree with that assessment. You may also want to take a look at WP:PAID. Huon (talk) 01:26, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Huon, thank you for responding. Looking back at my edits, I can see how it could be seen as not neutral. I was unaware of the guidelines for paid editing as well. I am an employee of Umpqua and I apologize for not following the guidelines. Moving forward, is there a way to work with an editor to update the article correctly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marksjacobs (talk • contribs) 14:43, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Huon, Hello again. I will be away from wiki for the next several days but I just wanted to check in with you before I am unavailable. Can you point me in the right direction on how to get help updating the article? 12.216.225.10 (talk) 15:47, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to update the article, my advice would be to break it down in various steps, approaching it topic by topic, and proposing changes that improve the coverage of each topic based on what reliable sources have reported about the company. Propose them here on the talk page and let uninvolved editors decide whether those proposed changes will improve our coverage of the company or not; you can add the code {{request edit}} to such a proposal to increase its visibility.
