Nelson Mandela[edit]

An IP has left the following comment on my Talk page (apparently because I was the last person to edit this article). The point made appears to be good faith and probably correct, but I'm hesitant to make the change without a clear reference to a reliable source. I copy the comment here in hope that someone else can check the evidence. GrindtXX (talk) 12:42, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is an error in the article. Nelson Mandela did get his LLB but was later awarded Honorary DSc in Economics from University of London in 1996. He was never awarded honorary LLD. I have checked the UOL records and also this is clearly shown in UOL official YouTube video.
Please change and update the same from your side. Thanks.
The information is correct. Wikipedia cannot have wrong information. Please change it, There are several sources which happen to cite this
Those sources do check out, and I will make the change. GrindtXX (talk) 13:31, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers and data missing for University of London[edit]

Some administrators and editors are deliberately deleting and missing out numbers of collegiate federal University of London. Let me put this in perspective, UOL is 17 member institutions (former constituent colleges) [that gave UOL degrees from 1836 to 2008] and three central academic bodies. University of Oxford is made up of thirty-nine semi-autonomous constituent colleges, six permanent private halls, and a range of academic departments and University of Cambridge is made up of 31 semi-autonomous constituent colleges and over 150 academic departments, faculties and other institutions organised into six schools.
How is it that total internal students (with external students) missing? Even old data (upton 1 or 2 yrs old is fine) as long as the article has source and approved external link to verify the information. The negative bias against UOL is pathetic.

The number of students in manifestly wrong by focusing only on the distance learning programs. The number should reflect the University as a whole, both internal and external students. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.79.50.38 (talk) 00:37, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding parameters "students" "undergrad" "postgrad" in infobox, the Template:HESA student population is not working, so nothing is displayed and it seems like there's a blank in the statistics provided. I tried to fix it by using Template:Sum below to total up all of the 17 college's individual populations (as UoL as a whole does not have an INSTID), but it adds to around a few thousand which is grossly below what should be the correct number.
This is pretty important and if anyone can figure out how to resolve this, please help! Otherwise, we'll have to manually enter population numbers into the infobox. Weslam (talk • contrib) 10:25, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 14 October 2021: update to Student Life section[edit]

Crucial update to Student life section, please add the below:

"Since 2020, ULU Student Central has been voted to dissolution by the Collegiate Council [internal source, primary source via email with Student Experience Manager]. All ULU clubs & societies, including the ULU Lifeguarding Society have since been shut down.

In August 2020, the Debate Society by the University of London students (DSUL) [source: bit.ly/3lF1z7G], an initiative by EMFSS students of the LSE at the University of London Worldwide in replacement of the ULU Student Central Clubs & Societies, was founded. The club operates entirely online-based, as an effort to unite the international student body of the distance learning programmes by the University of London Worldwide and London-based students from small and medium colleges.

DSUL is an independent, not-for-profit, student-run organization, aims to train students in debating, to enrich student life in extracurricular experience with a variety of soft skills in critical thinking, public speaking and equipped with working knowledge of the world. The Debate Society is currently in the formalization process with the University and have received provisional status of recognition [source: https://www.instagram.com/debate_uolstudents/]." 2402:800:63DD:1914:986B:26A:24D8:99E2 (talk) 21:31, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
