It broke my heart to do it, but I changed the credit for "Foggy Notion". According to the Peel Slowly And See credits, the song was written by all the band members except Lou Reed, plus an old record producer named Hy Weiss.
The VU CD has no songwriting credits on it -- it only lists the players on each track.
Does anybody have any evidence the PS&S credit is incorrect? I'd prefer to believe Lou Reed wrote or co-wrote every VU song until he left the band.

If you google "Hy Weiss" and "Foggy Notion" there's some interesting reading. The most plausible theory is that Weiss' name was added as either a tribute by Reed, or because a song of Weiss' was quoted and he is given credit. Why "Foggy Notion" doesn't credit Reed as well on Peel Slowly... is a mystery (I don't have it in front of me to check it out), but the version on the Quine Tapes which is a morte recent VU release, credits Reed and Weiss: Reed, plus the others. I'm thinking that's how it should be credited here, since the VU album doesn't list Weiss, Peel Slowly... adds Weiss and omits Reed: the Quine Tapes credit is the most inclusive (since Reed is obviously singing and playing on the song).
