This article has become confused in its subject (and confused in other ways as well). Material on Vaasudeva should be in the Krishna article, or if it that article becomes too large, then it could reasonably be adde to an article titled Krishna Vaasudeva. This article should be on its original subject, that of the father of Krishna. Imc 15:58, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Clearly the more popular usage of the term is associate with Krishna being Vasudeva. A disambiguation page is required to avoid further confusion. Wikidās ॐ10:11, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Patronymic is a name derived form a name of the father. This word is used by Hastings in his encyclopedia to describe VAsudeva. This is english Wikipedia and its preferably to use English words to describe things.. Wikidās-ॐ11:36, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He was a king of the Vrishnis, and a Yadava prince.[3] The son of the Yadava king Shurasena, he was also the cousin of Nanda, the foster-father of Krishna.[4][5][6] His sister Kunti was married to Pandu.According to Hindu scriptures, Vasudeva (Sanskrit: वसुदेव, IAST: Vasudeva), also called Anakadundubhi, (anakas and dundubhis both refer to drums, after the musicians who played these instruments at the time of his birth),[1][2] is the father of the Hindu deities Krishna (Vāsudeva, i.e. "son of Vasudeva"), Balarama, and Subhadra.
