Untitled[edit]

Why different colours?--Martianmister (talk) 16:26, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

November 2017 events.[edit]

There's an Rfc at President of Zimbabwe. Not sure if it will end the dispute here. GoodDay (talk) 15:13, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Done - An RfC was taken for this page and the issue has since been resolved. GippoHippo (talk) 14:52, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Legitimacy of Mphoko as Vice-President[edit]

The following discussion is an archived record of a request for comment. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
A summary of the debate may be found at the bottom of the discussion.

There should also be an RfC on this topic as we need more opinions on whether:
A: Phelekezela Mphoko was the First Vice-President of Zimbabwe between 6 and 24 November 2017
B: Mr Mphoko is currently serving as the Vice-President (be it first or second) to Emmerson Mnangagwa, the current President of Zimbabwe
GippoHippo (talk) 09:24, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi We have no source that Mphoko became first vice president but I have found a source who said that he left his office on 24 November. --Panam2014 (talk) 12:52, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@GippoHippo, GoodDay, Strawberry4Ever, Nick.mon, and Hariboneagle927: your opinion is welcome. It is sure that Mphoko term ended on 24 November but we haven't sources who said that he was first VP. Especially since shortly before a coup, Mugabe said that the next first vice president would be a woman, implied his wife Grace. So the post was vacant. --Panam2014 (talk) 19:56, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, once the protection ends on this article tomorrow, I'm all for you citing the source you're referring to and mark the office as vacant. However, I believe we should leave the question of if at all Mr Mphoko was First VP for another day, although I doubt any more sources will become available on this specific issue. Alternatively, we could mark Mr Mphoko's term as Second VP as ending on 24 November 2017 (as per the source you're referring to), while leaving the First Vice-Presidency between 6 and 24 November as 'Unclear/Vacant' followed by 'Vacant' as of 24 November 2017 onwards. --GippoHippo (talk) 20:15, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@GippoHippo: a source from Le Monde:

NYT said that Mphoko was second VP on 20 November. --Panam2014 (talk) 21:10, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have made the relevant changes based on what we currently know. --GippoHippo (talk) 17:41, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
