Regarding section on Withdrawn Passenger Services - Manchester via Tyldesley and the statement local passenger service withdrawn November 1964, with some expresses continuing until 1969.
Local train withdrawal in 1964 is not in dispute, but can anyone confirm that expresses did actually run until 1969?
My sources (mainly the book "A Lancashire Triangle") indicate that the last through trains on the Tyldesley to Wigan section were holiday trains, ending in September 1968 (so not really a service for Wigan North Western) and through freight and parcels trains also ceased in 1968.
Why arent the two whisk wind turbines installed months ago working? I heard a rumour that they havent installed the grid connections because of some cockup in planning. WatcherZero (talk) 10:38, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
