[Untitled][edit]

I don't know anything about this, but does any government actually recognized "World Intellectual Property Day"? Or is this some kind of expo by an orginization? This would be very relevent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.246.241.194 (talkcontribs)

The links for EPO, CIPRO and CIPO are given, which means there ARE governments which recognise it. But seriously, this is the lamest day ever! Next, "World Walking is good Day".--Scheibenzahl 18:48, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Critique?[edit]

This page needs a whole lot of critical sources, since Intellectual Property is by far not an "only good" thing. Especially the most recent motto "promoting respect for intellectual property" shows that 1) they are pushing for forcing IP into our daily lives and 2) trying to make that look like it's required and good, while both are not necessarily the case. In fact, this is one of the typical examples where corporate lobbyists created a marketing campaign seemingly benefitting the people, while in reality only benefitting themselves. Compare with Software Patents and the RIAA / DMCA, where lobbyists (probably the same ones) tricked gullible governments into supporting them. On a personal note, apart from being absolutely lame, this thing almost made me puke. 217.82.120.231 (talk) 17:04, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My comment on the above[edit]

[edited out] What I wanted to ask if there are any parallel events to it housed by the opposition to IP? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.81.167.90 (talk) 23:24, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Added. --AVRS (talk) 15:35, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Probably not events, but much ridicule and condemnation I can assure you, just that no one has put them in yet. Sinsearach (talk) 03:27, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I stand very pleasantly corrected, after not noticing that "added" link and clicking on it; very nice. Sinsearach (talk) 03:28, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a farce.... ok?[edit]

I clicked to check the article in hopes of finding it had to be a joke. This is unreal. Just like a "ministry of truth" celebration day. Why am I not surprised this is a real, genuine day of recognition of neurological and data patterns. But how in the world is there not one mention of a solid cited source of professional ridicule regarding this, such as from Richard Stalman, et al? Sinsearach (talk) 03:25, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
