Permanently protected template

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

This template creates a full citation, including the ref tags for certification data from different regions. In essence it wraps tags around a Cite certification in a specific manner that allows the reuse of these references. This behavior is used internally for Certification Table Entry and may also be useful elsewhere. However, since this creates non-standard citations, this usage is not recommended when not strictly necessary.

The template can also be used for reusing previous references or for reusing references from Certification Table Entry. If the region/artist/title/type fields are identical, the reference will be reused. This is a shortcut to using |refname= and named citations, with much less control.

See Cite certification for the regions supported and parameters required of that template.

Usage example

The Linkin' Park album Meteora was certified triple Platinum in 2008.
In the same year, the album Live in Texas was certified triple Gold.

Results in:

The Linkin Park album Meteora was certified triple Platinum in 2008.[1] In the same year, the album Live in Texas was certified triple Gold.[1]

Achtung Baby has been certified 5× Platinum in Australia.

Certification Table Top

Results in:

Achtung Baby has been certified 5× Platinum in Australia.[2]
