This template inserts a graphic representing the evolution of the European Union's structure. To use the template, simply invoke it: {{Structural evolution of the European Union}}. It doesn't accept any parameters.
The template will generate named footnotes in the group lower-alpha along with a {{reflist}} template for the same. If the invoking article uses footnotes, they must not be in the lower-alpha group so that this template does not interfere with them.
