This template is used to confirm that a copyright owner has granted permission for their work to be used on Wikipedia under a free license. It should be added to the top section of the article's Talk page using the following syntax:

This license should not be used for text released on or after November 1, 2008, as our licensing migration forbid single licensing of text under GFDL from that date.
note is an additional, optional parameter which includes more information within the box. It may be useful, for example, to note if the licensing allows or does not allow importing additional information from the source. See Talk:Human Frontier Science Program for example in use.
removed=1 - if only old revisions of the article make use of this text because it is outdated, deemed too promotional for use, etc., then please add removed=1 to the template. (We still want to have a record of the statement of permission, but we don't want to imply that it is currently a part of the text.)
DO NOT USE THIS TEMPLATE if there is no VRTS ticket to associate with it.
NOTE:Unless the copyright holder of the material is the one that added it to the article, you also need to follow the instructions at WP:FREECOPY and attribute them on the article page itself via {{Dual}} or another attribution template.
