Information icon Hi Uw-medrs, I'm Example. Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently made additions to one or more articles without citing a reliable source. Please note that all content and edits on Wikipedia are expected to be verifiable in reliable sources. In articles related to medical topics, the standard for content and sourcing is defined at WP:MEDRS, and in your edit you did not include any references that meet that ideal. Please have a look at MEDRS to learn about the quality standards for medical sourcing. You might also want to take a look at WikiProject Medicine. If you have any questions related to sourcing of medical issues, you can ask at the WikiProject Medicine Talk page. For general questions about sourcing, see Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Optional, final comment here. ~~~~

This template is intended for use on the Talk page of users who have edited articles related to medical topics and either neglected to add a reference where needed, or have added references which are not MEDRS-compliant. It may be used for users who have made good faith efforts to include reliable citations in the article, but which do not meet the standards of citations defined by Wikipedia:Reliable medical sources.

Usage[edit]

{{subst:Uw-medrs}}
{{subst:Uw-medrs|sourced=yes}}
{{subst:Uw-medrs|1=UNCOMPLIANT ARTICLE1|2=UNCOMPLIANT ARTICLE2}}
{{subst:Uw-medrs|UNCOMPLIANT ARTICLE1|good1=GOOD ARTICLE1}}
{{subst:Uw-medrs|1=UNCOMPLIANT ARTICLE1|comment=EXTRA TEXT}}

This template autosigns with four tildes; please do not add a signature.

Parameters[edit]

There are two positional and four named parameters. All parameters are optional.

Effects of parameters

In the sentence beginning, "I noticed that you recently made additions to one or more articles...", adding |sourced=yes will modify the end of that sentence to:

Adding one or both positional parameters, modifies that sentence to:

Using one or both of the |good*= parameters also adds an additional sentence, after "...may have been removed," namely:

Using the |comment= parameter adds whatever text you supply to the end of the message. It is immediately followed by your signature (added automatically by the template).

Examples[edit]

{{subst:Uw-medrs}}
  • Simple invocation, no params; gives generic message with links to WP:MEDRS without mentioning any articles.
{{subst:Uw-medrs|sourced=yes}}
  • Using named param |sourced= expands the generic message to acknowledge the user's attempt to add a citation to a reliable source, but without mentioning any specific article they touched.
{{subst:Uw-medrs|Vulcan anesthesiology|Invertebrates on Ganymede}}
  • Using positional params |1= and |2= names and links two articles with problematic references added by the user
{{subst:Uw-medrs|Vulcan anesthesiology|good1=Robot plankton|good2=Jovian exophyla|comment=Happy editing!}}
  • Params |1= and |2= indicate the problematic article(s); params |good1= and |good2= name article(s) that they sourced correctly, per MEDRS. Param |comment= is an optional final comment containing any text.
