This template is written in Canadian English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, centre, travelled, realize, analyze) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Uh, no, precedent with the other parties is that there is one template for the federal party with links to relevant topics, such as provincial affiliates, past and present federal leaders, present provincial leaders, and important related topics, not an expansive template with nested collapses that lists every member of the party at every level everywhere in the country. NDP is federal and provincial, but not like this template. {{NDP}} lists the articles about the federal party and provincial affiliates, historic federal leaders and elections, current provincial leaders and most recent elections, and a few other important topics. {{GPC}} lists every historic leader and member of a legislature at every level of the party, including several individuals who don't have articles, in an awkward multi-collapse format which if you expand it is longer than most of the articles it's placed on, and if you collapse it still takes up nearly half the screen at 1600x900. It's difficult to establish political allegiances in provinces that don't use political parties for municipal politics, so I partially agree. Everyone on the list, however, I believe is or was elected. A separate list would look the same or short if you limit it to federal and provincially elected folks. I like your draft template. I've altered the infobox here to reflect the fact it's contents are more generally related to Green Politics in Canada rather than specific to the Green Party of Canada. The previous arrangement of this infobox erroneously identified the provincial green parties as "wings" of the federal party which is not accurate, they are not wings as they are wholly independent. The only party with wings is the NDP which is a single organisation. It looks like at some point some silly goose went around and tried to have all the Canadian Political infoboxes emulate the design of the NDP one which has resulted in these inaccuracies cropping up (the Liberal party infobox suffers from the same error to a lesser extent). Please do not revert the changes made, If you want an infobox which is exclusively for the Green Party of Canada I suggest you look towards what's done with the Conservative Party of Canada infobox and it's companion right-wing parties infobox as a more appropriate way of doing things. --142.229.115.111 (talk) 16:44, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the point that the lower-level parties are not “wings” of the federal party. They are separate and distinct entities with no legal relationship to each other. (Further, my understanding of election laws is that they are legally prohibited from formally acting as a common entity.) They do, for the most part, share the six Green principles (as shared by Green Parties around the world), and have often derived their logos from similar stylized sunflower motifs (the sunflower being an emblem used by many Green Parties around the world). But those commonalities do not make them bound to each other, nor does it define any of them as “wings” of a parent party. --GrantNeufeld (talk) 20:36, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with re-naming party wings. I don't agree with calling them parties as not everything in that section is separate from the GPC. For now I have called it party entities. I've removed the custom color scheme from this navbox. As with other custom navbox color schemes, it serves no encyclopedic purpose, and acts only as decoration that actually makes the navbox less accessible to vision-impaired users. Wikipedia templates are intended to be navigation features, not party banners.
I removed the past & upcoming general elections from the template as these are not specific Green articles and I doubt other Canadian political templates include these either. Me-123567-Me (talk) 00:10, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
