reverse order of the confrences[edit]

Am I the only one who thinks the confrences should be listed with West on the left and East on the right, so it's kinda like looking at map? Gentgeen 00:02, 20 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

NFL on Christmas Day[edit]

Why was that deleted? Why did it warrant deletion? I don't know why it was, so that is why I ask. Thanks Soxrock 01:50, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to the deletion logs, the answer can be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NFL on Christmas Day. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 01:52, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Collapse problems[edit]

This has come up before and was inquired on User talk:Psantora to no avail. There is a problem where the first time "Show" is clicked the template does not expand and rather just wraps to the next line. Pats1 00:32, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a "width="100%" attribute to the table. Seems to work on Firefox, but could you test it on other browsers? Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 02:03, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Having the box span the entire width of the page is the only way it will work correctly. Similar attributes are also in Template:Navbox and Template:Navbox generic. If you do not want the box to span the entire width of the page, you cannot have the collapsible (show/hide) feature. Cheers. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 02:09, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have FF too, but I'll check it in IE. For some reason it changes from article to article as well. Pats1 02:19, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. Pats1 02:21, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't seen the problem you are talking about with the template not expanding all the way, however there is a problem with using "width:auto" and the collapsable template as when the template is hidden it shrinks to the width of the title instead of the normal width of the template. I have started some discussion about this here. PaulC/T+ 23:14, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's fine now. Pats1 23:54, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One Game Play-offs[edit]

IsOne Game Play-off really relevant enough in anyones opinion to be featured in this template? It hasn't been utilized in decades because of the implementation coin toss. It's not standard practice in the NFL currently and it's not even notable enough to have its own article. I would like to remove it from the template after hearing some opinions, if any. ASPENSTITALKCONTRIBUTIONS 02:22, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Washington's team name[edit]

Obviously, we all know the Washington franchise adopted a new name this morning. Certainly, in any future seasons' templates the new name (or any future new name) should be used. As much as I disliked the silly "Washington Football Team" name they used for the past two seasons, however, I think that name needs to remain in this template via a piped link. It's indisputable that they played the 2021 season as the "Washington Football Team," it's indisputable that when they announced the name change their season was over and only a week and a half remained in the overall 2021 season, and it's indisputable that the template is intended to reflect the NFL's makeup and alignment as it existed during the 2021 season. It's simply incorrect to refer to the "Washington Commanders' 2021 season" because no such season existed. Therefore, I strongly believe the piped link is appropriate in this template. 1995hoo (talk) 15:55, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. This is just adding additional maintenance for no reason. We should be reflecting the current-day name of the team and not the previous/ongoing season. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:39, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But the template specifically says "2021" at the top. If the same one will be used for 2022, then by all means it makes sense to change the name once the 2022 template is in use. But until then, it's misleading specifically because the template says "2021." There were no "2021 Washington Commanders," plain and simple. I'm not going to revert your edit to the template because I don't want to run up against WP:3RR, but I believe the edit is indisputably incorrect as long as the template is headed "2021." 1995hoo (talk) 19:58, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, a very good point from an editor interested in encyclopedic accuracy. As long as 2021 is one of the main themes of the template via its title the 'Football Team' name still applies. Randy Kryn (talk) 20:32, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That’s exactly my position. 1995hoo (talk) 12:37, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
