Why exactly are NMI general elections from the 70s on listed as referendums? 68.39.174.238 15:31, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The problem was that I couldn't find dates for elections during the 1970s, but I did find referendum dates. If you know election dates from the '70s, please share! пﮟოьεԻ 57 16:01, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think (s)he's referring to the fact that there are a few links to general elections in the referendum section... —Nightstallion 20:08, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That would be because the referendums were carried out as part of the election. пﮟოьεԻ 57 20:58, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's extremely confusing, especially since it makes it look like they had more referendums then everyone but Switzerland. 68.39.174.238 00:42, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But there were loads of referendums. I don't see your point. пﮟოьεԻ 57 02:30, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I still say we should link to articles on the referendums themselves, not to the general elections -- separate issue, in my book... —Nightstallion 14:57, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We don't have pages called "Congressional/Legislative/Parliamentary elections" that also describe Presidential/Governorial/Executive electiosn or vice versa. If they're referendums along with the general election, they should both be described on a page called "General", or if the referendum is important enough, it should have its own page. A page on a referendum should NOT also describe a general election, that's extremely confusing and apparently contradictory. 68.39.174.238 17:50, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, as it seems referendums are a common occurence with CNMI elections, we can leave the system as it is. —Nightstallion 21:04, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I disagree with the latest edit, removing all those dates. Now someone will look at the page and think that there was no referendum held in 1985, 1987 etc because there is no link in the referendum section of the template. I don't think it is a big issue that a line in the referendum section links to a general election article if the article includes details about the referendum. The only reason that it is not done in the Swiss template is because I could not find details about all their referendums. пﮟოьεԻ 57 15:43, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
