I'm curious why there are articles on single track, double track, and quadruple track, but not for triple track. Triple track is pretty common in the New York City subway. In the outer boroughs, they run locals on both outside tracks and express into the city in the morning and out of the city in the evening. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:11, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That might be considered as one double track and one single track. Sounds like a clever system, but how the train movement operations are done there cannot (I guess) be easily applied on many locations. There aren't that many large cities like NY. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.76.35.34 (talk) 08:23, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]

I'm suggesting a merge of this template and Template:Rail tracks to make a better template for the key articles of rail infrastructure. However it's just a suggestion - if the suggestion is to further expand the template then the idea is not a good one. But if the template is complete as it is then maybe the idea should be pursued. Please comment. Thnks.Sf5xeplus (talk) 01:52, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

interlaced track

[edit]

There is an article on Gauntlet track or interlacing. I am surprised it is not mentioned in the first row of this template. --Robert EA Harvey (talk) 21:36, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
