I'll reiterate that some of the instruments are extremely rare regional instruments used only by non-Han ethnic minorities. If all such instruments were to be added, the template would be about 50 times longer. I've removed the following since they were all ancient, esoteric within their groups, variant names, or used by only one group of people. I have also changed the font size of the template and widened it which makes it look more concise. I like the idea of having separate templates for some of the groups. Tim Q. The purpose of this template is for navigation to other relevant pages, whether they are esoteric or not isn't the issue. If they are too esoteric then those pages might be considered for deletion since they may not warrant their own page. But if they have their own page, then they should be included. The only criteria is whether they are traditional Chinese instruments or not - for example, should Xindi be considered traditional or not? My opinion is no. The more difficult question is whether you would include instruments from people of other ethnicity like the Mongolians; I would say no to that as well, although this is arguable because restricting the word "Chinese" to mean "Han-Chinese" could be contentious. The problem is the blue text. Even with a moderately red color like this (I know, it's symbolic for Chinese culture) the blue is quite hard to read. Lighter colors, thus, always work best for these kinds of template bars. Badagnani00:48, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
