Wrong Golf IV date[edit]

VW Golf IV is still being manufactured in Brazil. This should be reflected here, but I don't know how to edit tables. Can someone do it?--Lenilucho 22:22, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Try looking in the Template:Volkswagen (South America) timeline 1980 to date ;-/ -- Teutonic_Tamer (talk to Teutonic_Tamer) 10:22, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

VW Fusca[edit]

I just undid a previous edit by an unregistered user who added in a "VW Fusca" supposedly produced/sold from 1990 to present. I have never heard of such a vehicle and the added link went straight to the Beetle, but just in case, has anyone else heard of such a vehicle? - Bell'Orso (talk) 00:45, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Basic research, including the Beetle article itself, shows that Fusca is what the Beetle is/was called in Brazil. Of course, that doesn't apply to this Europe timeline, so you were right to revert it. --Vossanova o< 20:16, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I did note that the Beetle was called "Fusca" in South America when checking up on this, probably should have noted that. So just to clarify, the Wikipedia page on the Beetle states that European production ceased in 1978, and European sales of cars produced in Mexico ceased in 1985 and neither production nor sale of the Beetle was ever resumed in Europe. My question was, is that correct? And was there ever a Volkswagen car that was produced and/or sold in Europe as the "VW Fusca"? Though from what you are saying I presume the answer to my first question is "yes", and to my second question the answer is "no". - Bell'Orso (talk) 07:34, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Legend[edit]

Dear Vossanova, thanks for adding some explanation to your edits: it's always helpful. I hope we can find concensus on whether a legend is part of the scope of this kind of car templates. I think manufacture/development info is key here because it shows what "DNA" different VW models have, despite all of them being sold at European dealerships. In life in general and when using Wikipedia, I like to follow the KISS (Keep IT Short & Simple) priciple as well, the use of a legend with some colours could fit well in this. Looking forward to collaborating in this. KatVanHuis (talk) 10:20, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
