User page for Alan Millar

I am really tired of babysitting articles to revert petty vandalism. I think Wikipedia really should require logins, and have an article approval mechanism.

Contributions[edit]

Articles that I originated or to which I supplied major portions of original writing:

The rest of the articles that I have contributed to are listed in Contributions. Many have been items from other public domain resources. All help in wikifying is greatly appreciated.

Spring/Summer 2007 Disambiguation.

Spring 2003 I am updating dates and summary comments in Biographical Listing and List of people pages.

December 2001 to Fall 2002 I am importing articles on historical people from the [Christian Classics Ethereal Library], another online book initiative. Done.

July to August 26, 2001 I have posted a significant number of the articles from the first volume of the 1911 Encyclopedia Bri... whoops, I mean the Project Gut... whoops, I mean an unnamed encyclopedia from 1911 whose copyright has expired. Done.

October 2001 I have added many entries from Easton's Bible Dictionary, 1897, from www.bf.org. Many of these will be found under Books of the Bible. Done.

Pictures I started the first wave of uploading public domain pictures for articles, in August 2001. See user:amillar/Contributions for ones I contributed. See Wikipedia FAQ and Wikipedia policy if you want to submit pictures also. Done.

Personal[edit]

I have been participating in Wikipedia since July or August 2001. I was one of the influx from the big Slashdotting.

I heartily endorse the Wikipedia:Neutral point of view goal but it is easier said than done :-)

I am a computer geek. I have been programming since 1979 and working in Information Technology since 1984 in various roles including programmer/analyst, network engineer, and system administrator.

I enjoy the diversity of Wikipedia and seeing the mutual encouragement. Keep up the good work everyone!
