BOBBY MARTIN is one of the most celebrated Music Producers/Arrangers/Composers of all time. Martin is often referred to as the “Architect of the Sound of Philadelphia”. He is also known as The “Granddaddy of R&B and Soul music”. Martin’s accolades stem from his outstanding work in as a master producer, arranger and composer with a keen ear for hit records. Martin is a celebrated music producer and arranger that orchestrated and composed Michael Jackson’s

1st platinum record.

He also produced the 2nd double platinum single record to have ever earned double platinum certification, a song entitled “Kiss and Say Goodbye”. Martin worked extensively on a musical project with the Grammy winning singing group, the Bee Gees,a project that afforded him to win one of the most prestigious Grammy wins standing alongside The Bee Gees, an award presented at the Grammy Awards as a result of the hit soundtrack album Saturday Night Fever:

Martin's producing, arranging, and composing with the legendary classical-soul ensemble, MFSB, set the stage for him

to create a musical recording that would change the face of music: "TSOP"(The Theme Song to Soul Train).

The orchestral recording redefined classical music as Martin fused it with a twist of the Phillie Sound creating a pioneering recording that changed the face of R&B music as we know it through Martin’s brilliance as an arranger.Martin worked with producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff for many years as a producer, arranger and songwriter. They together, along with Tom Bell developed The Sound of Philadelphia. Martin’s mastery of music is seen and heard in the rich swelling arrangements of musical tones of the orchestra which included strings, percussion, horns and other philharmonic instruments. With Martin at the helm of directing the orchestra, the result was the classical- R&B sound that defines the “TSOP"(The Theme Song to Soul Train). A song that ultimately promoted a new dance-music series, "Soul Train", to become a hit series that lasted multiple seasons in its successful television run. Bobby Martin won the Grammy award for "TSOP"(The Theme Song to Soul Train) that established him as a celebrated master of music in the area of professional arranging, producing and composing.

Martin's creativity as a prolific music arranger became the foundation of the recording that soon became a hit record as well as one of the most popular TV show theme songs in the history of entertainment. Martin is often referred to as the "Maestro" or "Architect of the Philadelphia Sound" as a result of his extensive work in arranging some of the top artists in the R&B and Jazz genres including the Jacksons(Enjoy Yourself), MFSB(Theme Song to Soul Train), Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes,Billy Paul,the Ojays, Lou Rawls, Archie Bell and the Drells, the Manhattans, Nancy Wilson, the Bee Gees.

Martin is noted as discovering R&B legend, Patti Labelle, producing her initial recordings and creating her official stage name, “Patti Labelle”. As a result of Martin's infusion of creativity, career insight and skillful arranging, Patti Labelle soon became one of the top stars of Soul in the initial phase of the R&B explosion on the music scene.

Martin is particularly noted to have create one of the most recognizable R&B/jazz arrangements when it comes to classic

love songs. A song entitled, "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine", recorded by the incomparable Lou Rawls.

Martin's work with the hit soul singing group, the O'Jays, is reflected in the multiple hit tunes that he added his musical touch to in terms of top of the line arrangements including top Billboard hits, "Ship Ahoy","Love Train", "Put Your Hands Together", "In Philadelphia" and other timeless soul hit records.

In addition to the world famous O'Jays, Martin has arranged multiple R&B hit records that rose to the top of Billboard charts creating gold and platinum records for a long list of Grammy Award Winning artists. The gold and platinum records Martin is attributed to include Top Billboard charting records including "Me and Mrs. Jones"(Billy Paul), "Enjoy Yourself")The Jacksons), "Cowboys to Girls"(Intruders),),"Love is the Message"(MFSB), "Wake Up Everybody"(Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes),"When Will I See You Again"(Three Degrees), and These hit records are a few examples of the long list of timeless hit records Martin has arranged and/or composed ultimately making his mark as a musical hitmaker.

Martin's vision and artistry represent his consistency and commitment to quality music from which original recordings take on longevity as mainstays in music. Martin continues to work in studio to date recording and arranging with top artists continuing his commitment to create quality music and ultimately hit records.
