A curated collection of feedback regarding my editing work

Deletion discussions:

Strong Keep. It seems like this is dlthewave's payback for me mentioning that I felt Stephen Paddock should not be given an article. I posted comments about thinking it didn't seem right that a murderer like Stephen Paddock be considered notable and be given an article - now with an expanded personal life section - versus someone like Heather Meyer who was killed at the Charlottesville Rally back in August. The user has edited articles on both the Charlottesville Unite the Right Rally and the Las Vegas Shooting article. I've expressed my opinion that victims should be notable because focusing on criminals gives the criminal more attention and incentives further violence."

And that means the article is now automatically FA right? No one ever needs to do anything to it again? It's notable, it's the best thing ever on this goddamn wiki? How about fixing it instead of sitting on your fucking hands?

Responses to my request to update WikiProject Firearms style guide to comply with RfC consensus:

(unsigned, 5 April 2018)

Well, considering that you have been on multiple pages claiming that this project is irrelevant, and has no say over local consensus. What do you want us to do? Disband the project?

Firearms can be deadly ... never handle them without care.

If I may react on "Any thoughts? from –dlthewave" ??? Yes there are thoughts. Just to compare with Marlboro (cigarette) ... Cancer ? Yes it is mentioned in this article ... but Tobacco packaging warning messages etc. are described in other articles of wikipedia. There is no need to have criminal warnings in each single article of firearms as if they were tobacco packages. WP:NPOV and encyclopaedic use are not to be seen in doing so. For sure some ideological motivated people would like to see this. In my opinion questions of crime should be canalized in special articles. If nothing else can be helpful ... ok just begin some of this kind of articles. In germany we just have some discussions with guys who see a need to report about "gangsta rap" and Glock-Pistols ;-) compare de:Glock-Pistole#Aufstieg_in_den_USA, there in『US-Popkultur hat, lässt sich vor allem im HipHop und Gangsta-Rap erkennen. Die Gruppen Three 6 Mafia, Cypress Hill und TRU verwenden die Glock schon im Titel des Songs』("US pop culture has its roots in hip-hop and gangsta rap, and the groups Three 6 Mafia, Cypress Hill and TRU already use the Glock in the title of the song.") Cheers.

After I pointed out a clear community consensus:

Ok now you are just splitting hairs.

On the Dangers of Infoboxes[edit]

@Dlthewave:, yes and it is a good idea in principle, but I just can't see how it would be enforced. If there was a solution, I would support. As somebody who is agnostic about the temples, but feels strongly about the wider dangers of placing one here, the slippery slope I dread is one where the incremental addition of every additional field invites antagonistic editors to the discussion[s] one, including by new comer evangelists (of either persuasion) to whom the whole thing has to be rehashed. That way lies (for me and others) indicates a future of hight mental health professional consultancy fees and expensive antidepressant medication bills :)

Miscellaneous[edit]

After I removed 10 years' worth of copyvio edits:

I've noticed over the past number of years that this article has been utterly destroyed, in terms of scope and quality of information. The images are all gone, the dimensions on the salutes are frequently wrong (or invented, in the case of salutes that don't really exist), and useful information has simply been removed. I'll go through the revisions and note when this page peaked in quality.
