Hi. My name is Colleen Hartung.  I am the chair of the 1000 Women in Religion Project, which is a partnership between the Women's Task Force of the Parliament of World Religions and the Women's Caucus of the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature. Through this project, we aim to add 1,000 names and contributions of religious/spiritual/wisdom women to Wikipedia. We are working to do this by soliciting names of women who do not already have a biography on Wikipedia from individuals who attended the 2018 Parliament, from individuals who are members of the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature and from the various networks of those individuals. This goal is in line with the 2018 Parliament of World Religion’s focus on the dignity of women in the world’s religious and spiritual traditions. In short, we are gathering the names of notable women in religion and spirituality onto our crowd-sourced and wikidata lists, we are writing biographies, we are recruiting and training editors with a focus on women, we are adding data to Wikidata and we are creating reliable secondary sources to be used by wiki-editors.

Colleen D. Hartung

I also work with the Ministry for Families and Children at Holy Wisdom Monastery in Madison, Wisconsin.  I completed my doctoral studies at Chicago Theological Seminary in 2015.  My academic research interest lies at the intersection between feminism, ritual theory, Derridian philosophies and theology with an emphasis on liturgical hospitality in an ecumenical context as a site of resistance, renewal and innovation. I am the author of a contribution to Polydoxy: Theology of Multiplicity and Relation titled "Faith and Polydoxy in the Whirlwind" (edited by Catherine Keller and Laurel C. Schneider, Routledge, 2012).
