From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My intent for editing on Wikipedia is to focus on technology and computer science articles, which aligns with my expertise and scholarly interests. But, right now, I am really just focused on learning the MOS intensively, so my editing is not aligned to any particular subject area.

I cite the MOS on all of my edits, as closely as possible given both my knowledge (which is still limited) and the granularity of the guidance (which varies). I do pay attention if my edits are reverted, and I do tend to seek an explanation if the rationale for the reversion is not clear to me when I review it.

In doing so, I objectively cite my understanding for the edit, how I think the MOS applies, and ask for advisement relative to that. I tend to also ask follow-up questions around the topic, as well, which, I understand, can probably be annoying to some. But it's a good way for us all to learn, and I have learned a lot from these interactions with more experienced editors.
