Who We Are is an American rock band formed in Blue Earth County, Minnesota in August 2009. It was founded by Patrick Hasse (Tibb) and Ben Mackie.
Patrick and Ben originally meet at the Lutheran church they attended. They immediately became good friends. The first concerts they attended together were at the Sonshine FestivalinWillmar, Minnesota.
Who We Are evolved from a conversation Ben Mackie and Patrick Hasse had over the internet, involving Patrick's guitar. Patrick went over to Ben's house the day before volunteering at a Minnesota State Fair Chinese food booth to begin writing songs and other things. Who We Are was originally intended to be named The Taxi, but the name was taken. The band decided on Who We Are, which is from the Hawthorne Heights song "This is Who We Are" and the 58_(band) song "Who We Are".
Although the band members are Christian, the band is not.
