From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

About me: I live in California and have been an editor of Wikipedia for 17 years now. I have started several articles and edited many. The one I am most proud of is the Manilla Galleon, although when I started it I was not logged in, so all you see is my ip address at the time, although I had actually accidentally typed my initials at the end of the article! lol Of the ones where I was logged in when I started them, I think the articles on the Dards and Misión San Fernando Rey de España de Velicatá are the ones I'm most proud of. I've more recently created Owen Roberts (aviator), Fiesta Inn, King Christian X Land, Meadowmont, North Carolina, and TUFESA, among other articles, that I hope Wikipedia users are enjoying, and have edited many others, as well.

I greatly enjoy Wikipedia and this wonderful cooperative effort and support financially in addition to editing it and improving it, as necessary, whenever I have a chance.

I am a supporter of inclusiveness in Wikipedia and believe that Wikipedia should strive to include all notable topics, even if relatively obscure, and I am constantly wondering if the reason that many subjects/people that I looked up were not referenced is because the articles on them may have been deleted by over-zealous notability activists keen on deleting articles that may be notable to vast numbers of people simply because of a notability activist or group of notability activists ganging up to delete articles that they personally do not feel notable and oftentimes relate to areas that they know little about, and I urge editors moving towards deletion of articles on the basis of notability to be particularly cautious in areas in which they do not have expertise or interest. I.e., if you are a fan of baseball but not hockey, stick to judging notability on topics relating to baseball. Likewise be extremely careful in judging topics for notability relating to places you've never visited and know little about. I would like to see the community of Wikipedia editors and administrators start to defer to the locals and other experts in areas of knowledge into which each topic falls when deciding notability.
