My background

I grew up in British Guiana , then Guyana in the 1960s and 1970s . I attended Queens College from 1970 to 1975 . I moved to England in 1975 for two years of school, studying for my "A" levels, at the Royal Masonic School for Boys in Bushey .
I then moved to Ontario , Canada in 1977 to attend the University of Guelph , and have lived in Guelph since then. I have involved myself in local issues, and am a member of the Guelph Civic League .
I am a database manager , responsible for a student information system , in a school board .
I have been a radio deejay on CFRU-FM since 1979 , hosting The Crooked Beat , a Reggae program, as Nicky Dread , since 1981 .
I have been involved in the Hillside Community Festival since the early 1990s as a stagehand, Board member and MC.
My Wikipedia interests include the wildlife, geography , culture and communities of Guyana, the Caribbean , Reggae, and tropical weather . I am also interested in archaeology and palaeontology in the Neotropics .
My stamp collection focuses on the British West Indies , from the first stamps to the end of the 20th century .
