Nicola Manini is a professor in physicsofmatter at the University of Milan. Nicola Manini graduated in physics at University of Trento, 1991. He carried out research for six months at Yale University. He obtained his PhDincondensed matter theory at SISSAinTrieste, 1995. He worked as a postdoc in Grenoble and Trieste. Since 2001, he operates at the University of Milan, first as an assistant and then as an associate professor. His theoretical-computational research has addressed mainly the vibrational states of polyatomic molecules, electron-vibration interaction (Jahn-Teller effect) in C60, geometric phases, ultracold atomic gases, carbon-based materials, and atomic-scale friction.
