From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jazmin Scarlett is a Teaching Fellow in Physical GeographyinNewcastle University and a researcher in Historical and Social Volcanology. Most known for her research focus on volcanoes in the Caribbean and Europe, Scarlett’s interdisciplinary approach to volcanology involves investigating volcanic risk perceptions, coexistence and adaptation and the role of cultural heritage and geoheritage of volcanoes in education and research.
Scarlett earned a BSc in Geography and Natural Hazards with Professional Training at Coventry University in 2013. She earned a MSc in Volcanology and Geological Hazards in Lancaster University in 2014.
In 2019, Scarlett earned a PhD in Earth Science in the University of Hull. On August 2nd, 2019, she successfully defended her thesis on "Co-existing with volcanoes: the relationships between La Soufriere and the society of St. Vincent, Lesser Antilles" [1][2]
As a Scholar in Physical GeographyinNewcastle University, Scarlett is involved in the teaching and assessment of various undergraduate modules within the Geography Department.
