I'm a writer with a day job doing programming for a large corporate entertainment retailer. In an effort to challenge myself as a thinker and a writer, and maybe even launch myself into a new career, I'm currently working my way through a Master's degree in History at Eastern Michigan University. I used to write the Deep Background and Field Notes columns for the now-defunct Ann Arbor Paper and now maintain a blog under the Deep Background name.
