Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to The Skeptics Society, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because the addition was not supported by a proper citation of a secondary source, nor incorporated into the article properly.
To elaborate on the first point, Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here.
To elaborate on the second point, such material requires a secondary source, not a primary one, and should not be shoehorned into a passage about the organization's history and the etymology of its name.
In addition, such material must be written in a neutral, journalistic fashion, with formal wording, and while avoiding peacock terms and other promotional-type wording that would give the passage the appearance of a résumé or advertisement, which would violate WP:NOT.
If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 13:52, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
