Kansas Statehouse/Capitol[edit]

If you believe the article should be moved to the new name, please use the "move" function, which moves the article talkpage and history, which is required for correct GFDL attribution. Cut/paste moves destroy this history and break links. First, you should initiate a discussion on the article talkpage; the links on the article page call it the "Capitol", but obviously, if there is a reliable, official source that says otherwise (Maryland and Massachusetts, for instance, have statehouses), you should introduce that into the article before moving, so a new article title doesn't conflict with sourced content. Acroterion (talk) 17:26, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's in User:Alphachimera/sandbox, missing only the categories, which can't exist in userspace. From what I see, "Capitol" is used at least as often as "Statehouse", but that's just an impression. The National Register of Historic Places calls it the Capitol. I'll see if I can get the NRHP nom, as that would point to authoritative sources, or perhaps account for the discrepancy in its text. In any case, the "move" function is the way to go. Acroterion (talk) 15:22, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The National Register nomination calls it first the Capitol, with an alternate name of State House [1]. It's rather silent concerning an official term. Acroterion (talk) 15:27, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The Kansas State Historical Society: [2]. Acroterion (talk) 15:31, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

News articles in Lawrence and Topeka almost always refer to it as the Statehouse. I found the House Bill that authorized funding, which calls it the Statehouse. The guy in charge of renovations is called the Statehouse Architect. I'm looking for a credible "source" though. Alphachimera (talk) 01:37, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!
