Good stuff recently[edit]

a bickie, as we call them

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Ticket to drive[edit]

As originally written, it suggests Hartnett was making a private "gift" to Chifley, not a public announcement. Beyond which, Chifley's support is already presumed, given it was his idea (as stated). That the public announcement featured his public presence might merit inclusion, given his later opposition, but it needs rewriting; mention of other public figures seems warranted, or it looks like a hatchet job on Chifley. No thanks necessary; that's why we're all here. (It is good to hear, tho. :D ) If you're interested in auto-related matters (& I ask this of almost everybody who messages me ;p ), have a look at custom car, hot rod, & Hirohata Merc; they could all use better sourcing, if you've got it. systematic maintenance[edit]

In business articles simply hasnt occurred - in the case of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toll_Global_Express a few years pass and nothing is touched. In all likelihood https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Companies_listed_on_the_Australian_Securities_Exchange and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Companies_of_Australia_by_industry could all do with a once over to update and or maintain - in many cases creators of articles in the two categories may no longer be on wikipedia - or interested in maintenance and updating. JarrahTree 00:20, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Toll is a challenge as they are now owned by Japan Post and have 'gone to ground' with meaningful public statements. Just a few years ago their "Government and Defence" business was set to compete with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halliburton. Now it is very hard to tell what they are doing. They had the contract to run the detention centre on Manus Island but it is no longer clear if this is the case. A lot of the information has been deleted from Wikipedia so that it now looks like they are a parcel delivery company. To be fair I understand Wikipedia is not a discussion forum but it is interesting how a company with such significant Australian operations can simply stop publishing information on its activity. I will have a look at those lists over the weekend. Should be able to make some updates in a methodical manner there.Brycewhite (talk) 00:43, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
