Disambiguation link notification for June 28[edit]
Hi. When you recently edited Thomas Dermer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jamestown (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
I don't believe that is quite right, for a couple of reasons.
The way categories work, this is now claiming that Apollo 10 is a Derelict satellites in heliocentric orbit; this is clearly incorrect.
If you have a source that the A10 LAS is, indeed, in heliocentric orbit, I believe the correct way to do it is get the statement, and the citation, in some appropriate section of the Apollo 10 article, and then create a redir to that specific sourced section, while then adding only that redir article to Category:Derelict satellites in heliocentric orbit. Hey, thanks. Yeah, I made a couple of changes such that the LAS is now in that cat, but the Apollo 10 itself is not.
FWIW, we are likely going to kick off a discussion on revising/modifying WP:LAUNCHES. There are a lot of reasons, but one is that we need to think about how to handle the myriad large pieces of space junk for which our standard policy doesn't even allow an article be created. We'll see where that goes, but I'm pretty comfortable, as a starting point, with creating clearly and explicitly named redirs for each one, that link to a main article where some section addresses (with sources) the situation. However, there are good reasons to go even farther. In any case, feel free to monitor and weigh in when that confab gets underway. N2e (talk) 01:34, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
