Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

@Tarl N. I didn't know I had reinstated anything. I was going down a search list of related articles looking for any with no short description. And I only got the dual notices of the reverted edit and the alleged edit war now - some 15-20 minutes after I finished off the list of federal Mexican highways. I still don't understand why the submission was reverted. That WP:NONE article doesn't explain this. I added a description that a smattering of related pages already had; in fact, I made the descriptions uniform across the whole set of articles. And right now, if I open the article whose description you removed, I get a big prominent "+ADD ARTICLE DESCRIPTION" at the top of the screen. So what's to stop me or anyone else from adding a description to this article without knowing any better? Celavin (talk) 07:46, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your creation of a short description does not add any disambiguating information - indeed, it is less informative than the original title. The purpose of the short description is to help on mobile screen searches where you may get a title which isn't fully informative, the short description can help you disambiguate between results. An example is if you get a result "Bluebuck", a short description of "Extinct species of South African antelope" call tell you if that's the article you are looking for. When the article title is Mexican Federal Highway 134, it is unambiguous, and should have a short description of "none". The description you added of "Highway in Mexico" does not provide any useful additional information - indeed, effectively it is a copy of the title with less information. Please read WP:SDESC, in particular the examples under "Purposes" to understand what should go there. The short description is always paired with the title, so repeating the title is not useful.
