Article quality ratings moving into banner shell[edit]
This is just to let the bot operators know that a change in Template:WikiProject banner shell and Template:WPBannerMeta was made today that allows people to enter the class rating in the banner shell template, and this will then be inherited by all project banners on that page (unless they have opted out). The assessment categories should be unaffected, so I'm not sure if any changes to the bot's code will be needed. Best wishes — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:51, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think anyone monitors this page but this report didn't get generated this evening. Several other bots that issue reports on a regular basis haven't been active tonight so maybe it's a system problem. But I wanted to report this somewhere. Thanks, whoever reads this. MusikAnimal, I saw you responded to one message on this page so maybe you could look at what's been published here since last year. Or you could tell us who to notify when there are problems with this bot. LizRead!Talk!05:19, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MusikAnimal and others in charge of this bot, I am researching WikiProject Andhra Pradesh to propose a method of increasing the activity by looking at popular pages, top edited pages. I already made a request for popular pages. If you can provide edit database report for on a monthly basis, at least for top 1000 pages, with count of edits and preferably count of not-IP, not-bot,not-AWB editors, it would be helpful. Thanks in advance. Arjunaraoc (talk) 01:01, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Arjunaraoc: - fyi, I moved Andhra Pradesh "Popular articles" page to "Popular pages" so it matches the Bot configuration. Also, changed the WP's wikilink to now point to "Popular pages". Unfortunately due to that name/spelling error, the bot missed running this month. I added a note to expect a good PP list from the Bot for mid-June 2023. Hey, just wondering and don't want to be greedy. ;) I love lists like for example Wikipedia:WikiProject Role-playing games/Popular pages as it gives me a good idea of what people are looking at. There are times though, when I look through lists like that thinking "I'd like to see what articles of just this subset people are looking at" and they may not be the most popular items overall so they will appear towards the bottom of the list, and it's tough to filter out all the noise. If we already have the main Popular pages list for a WikiProject, is it possible to just do subsets for particular larger categories and all of their subcategories? Such as maybe the top 200 from Category:Role-playing games by year, the top 200 of Category:Role-playing game supplements by year and the top 100 from Category:Role-playing game designers?BOZ (talk) 15:04, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry - I archived the first post by mistake[edit]
This bot generally produces this report at 05:02 UTC like clockwork but it didn't today. Just thought I'd alert y'all in case anyone monitors this talk page. LizRead!Talk!05:27, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Reporting schedule is all off-kilter for the past two days. I've seen other bots affected, too. But I thought I'd bring it to someone's attention. LizRead!Talk!22:24, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
