Welcome!

Hello, DHN-bot~enwiki, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  RJFJR 14:42, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Three-letter language codes?[edit]

Why is your bot putting 3-letter language codes before the others, rather than alphabetical by code like the others? See Albert Einstein (note - many people don't know 3-letter codes exist. But those codes are a hobby of mine...) --Alvestrand 09:34, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Hi! Thank you for your interwiki contributions. It would be good if your edit summaries said more than "(robot)" [1]. If the only action is altering the interwiki sorting, the action could be cancelled, or the summary could say, "(robot sorting interwiki)" or something. Thanks. --Eddi (Talk) 04:36, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to say the same thing. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 10:03, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I meant for that functionality to operate only in vi.wiki only but it went overboard. I've turned off that functionality. DHN 18:37, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nitpick[edit]

Hello! Great bot you're running here; I just have one tiny omission to point out so you can make this bot even better. After an IP user blanked a large section of bacteria, your bot restored the links to the articles in other languages, but omitted the link to nrm:Bactéthie. (In my edit summary I mistakenly said that nds:Bakterien had been omitted, but ignore that.) I realize this is just a small thing, but if you have a chance to take a look at it that would be great. Cheers, Dar-Ape 02:08, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nouormand[edit]

Inthis edit, you moved the interwiki link for Norman from (what I assume to be) its proper place at N to the beginning of the list, before A. Is there some reason for this? --Stemonitis 09:19, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, are you sure that the bot did the right thing in respects to Rani Mukherjee? This article recently underwent an official name change (Rani Mukerji → Rani Mukherjee), and it seems like your bot has reversed this trend for the article on other-language Wikis. Did this bot make a mistake when foreign-languages versions of Rani Mukherjee should retain the correct name? Ekantik talk 00:39, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is a automated to all bot operators[edit]

Please take a few moments and fill in the data for your bot on Wikipedia:Bots/Status Thank you Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 19:01, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Automated message to bot owners[edit]

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 00:55, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Derby[edit]

Could you stop your bot adding simple:Derby (horse race) to the Derby article here which is about the British city, and not the horse-race. Thanks, David Underdown (talk) 11:25, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bot error[edit]

Your bot is adding false link to Vietnamese wikipedia in this article: Cook Islands Football Association. Please alter your bot to prevent adding it again. - Darwinek (talk) 11:50, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bellary transliteration[edit]

Your bot repeatedly changes the already correct devanagari and telugu transliteration of 'Bellary' to something that is wrong. Please look into it. --Shree (talk) 08:43, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is that New?[edit]

I noticed, you adding a link to other language article related to Hosur and it mentions as new while there is already a link to the same language. Will be please tell me what the difference is? A Soosai Prakash (talk) 04:11, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your account will be renamed[edit]

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.

Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called DHN-bot. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name DHN-bot~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.

Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
