Hello, Galatee, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
I make it myself! I use Wikipedia's list from the past year, which is generally terrible, and four or five reliable websites where I fact-check. Yes, it takes up a ton of time. Oh well... I enjoy it. Next year will be a lot easier since I have the basic lists already and will just need to change holidays that have floating dates. Thanks! how to request only certain versions of a file be deleted[edit]
Thanks for deleting. Is there a way to request only certain versions of a file be deleted, whether speedily or at FFD, besides just mentioning it in text? Galatee (talk) 19:05, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's no straightforward way I know of except to drop a note on someone with the administrator rights talkpage. Given that people are off-and-on the site FfD is probably the easiest place, and the most likely to be actioned quickly. Happy editing - Peripitus(Talk)20:35, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The IATA charges a fee for an official list of IATA location identifiers; as per this page it costs $1,100 (US) for a one time web download. Because of that I use secondary sources for IATA codes; one I have found to be quite accurate is the Aviation Safety Network. When I edited La Grande-4 Airport back in July 2007, I was checking the IATA codes for Canadian airport articles; those found at ASN had links added, those not found were removed until a reference could be found. Due to your question I checked another secondary source, UN/LOCODE (United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations). Their 2009 list for Canada contains YAH, with a "4" in the function column indicating "airport" and "AI" in the status column meaning a "code adopted by international organization (IATA or ECLAC)". Therefore, I have updated the article to show IATA: YAH, with a reference to the UN/LOCODE list. -- Zyxw (talk) 06:30, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Galatee, I replied to your query here. If you think that redirect should exist, please explain why. I wouldn't delete it a second time, but it would likely be deleted by someone else without a justification; the external news stories all link to the existing userpage. –SJ+01:49, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
