Your reverts[edit]

First you beg for "refraining from removing large chunks of material without prior discussion", but then you continue to revert mindlessly (here and here) completely ignoring my reasons given on the talk page. Note that you won't get away with that 'strategy' of yours. Just won't happen. Regards Gun Powder Ma (talk) 12:20, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Gun Powder Ma (talk) 02:38, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please comment on the request for sanctions against you on WP:AN3.  Sandstein  11:34, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please see the result of WP:AN3#User:Gamer112 reported by User:Gun Powder Ma (Result: Both warned), which ended with warnings to both parties. Let me know if you have any questions on how to use the WP:Dispute resolution policy. Since there are only two disputants, you might consider requesting a WP:Third opinion. EdJohnston (talk) 03:04, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cataphract[edit]

Hello. I concede that my account is a bit concise, but I wanted to be as close to my sources as possible. That's why I am also a bit uncomfortable with you rewriting the passage, even though you do not seem to have them before your eyes. An offer: drop me an email, and I will provide you with my sources. Then, you can judge for yourself. Gun Powder Ma (talk) 23:23, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sisennus...[edit]

If you are magnanimous enough to forgive my ignorance, you may also enlighten it. Who was Sisennus? Richard Keatinge (talk) 20:36, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sisennus is the Hellenic rendition of Sicinnus, a slave of Themistocles, who was present during the Second Persian invasion of Greece and recorded the outcome of numerous battles during the Greco-Persian Wars. Gamer112(Aus) (talk) 05:43, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The slave of Themistocles? I'd heard of him, but not that he ever wrote anything. Do you have a primary reference, or at least one a little easier of access? I've copied this discussion to Talk:Cataphract where it probably belongs.Richard Keatinge (talk) 15:57, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling[edit]

Hi. I noticed this edit, which restored spelling errors to an article. Please be more careful in future as knowingly making edits that reduce the quality of Wikipedia articles can lead to loss of editing privileges. Thanks for your consideration. --John (talk) 14:34, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You'd be well advised to try De-Caffeinated coffee and stop assuming the absolute negative in every situation. It was an honest mistake.
I jumped the gun because every week, regular as clockwork, some WikiBot or a recent changes patroller with an automated script comes along and messes up half the links, spelling and disambiguation in the article, without realising it.
You have my apologies. Gamer112(Aus) (talk) 18:26, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. You are right, my message was a little harsh, and I too apologize. I've struck the bit that concerned you. Thanks again. --John (talk) 20:22, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reading Comprehension?[edit]

Re: Ferhat Pasha Mosque Thank you, Mr. Wiseacre! Yet, prior to any future demonstration of your grandiose superiority in the mastering of English grammar you are well advised to practise and improve your own skill of reading comprehension just in case you come across another sentence that stretches over more than 1 1/2 lines.Pl. Moneys (Oxford Dict.) - (Webster's Collegiate Dict.: moneysormonies; "erroneously monies" acc. to Cassell, Chambers), is a plural that may have got lost on its long way across the ocean and into the bush, but it's a fine way of saying that the funds came from different sources. Furthermore, architecture is not really designed, isn't it the building that is designed?. But, I'll leave your corrupted text for the enjoyment of others. Happy now?--Marschner (talk) 20:59, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Byzantine Kataphraktoi[edit]

I would merely point out that there are no less than 5 paragraphs in the article describing Byzantine cataphracts and now no illustration to give the reader any idea of their appearance. Indeed the article is heavy on prose concerning Roman and Byzantine cataphracts and none are illustrated. Urselius (talk) 16:49, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"utilise" vs "use"[edit]

Why do you think that "utilise" is better than "use" in these two cases? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cataphract&oldid=591563634&diff=prev --Slashme (talk) 15:45, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
