Low Saxon conjugation

[edit]

Hi Godvisken,

you asked about conjugation patterns in Low Saxon. I am not 100% sure what you meant. I think you asked about the double entries in Low German in the Grammar paragraph: wi slaapt vs. wi slapen.

This is a regional difference. Dialects in the central area have all 3 plural forms in the present tense on -t. The dialeacs in East Frisia and the Dialects in Mecklenburg and further east have -en. The -en is Dutch influence, in the West i.e. East Frisia, neighboring the Netherlands, as well as in the east. There it is usually explained with a dutch share in the Eastern colonization several hundred years ago.

Kind regards,

Heiko Evermann

Feel free to use that information. You do not need to paraphrase. The eastern colonization is explained in Drang nach Osten. The corresponding article in :de has much more details. The important passage is "Population growth during the High Middle Ages stimulated movement of peoples from the Rhenish, Flemish and Saxon territories of the Holy Roman Empire eastwards into the less-settled Baltic region and what is now Poland." The Flemish people brought their regional dialect with them. The resulting mixture of the eastern dialects of Low Saxon therefore shows some (but not many) characteristics of what later became Dutch.

Ásmegin article

[edit]

Hello, Nice work on the Ásmegin article. Since you're the one who created it I was wondering if you would consider renaming it to Åsmegin (for now I redirected). I'm under the impression that Åsmegin is the correct spelling, although I'm not sure. Drop me a message. -- – sampi (talkcontrib) 01:10, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some websites (and people) seem to think the correct spelling in norwegian is with a 'Å'. Ironically, the norwegian wikipedia lists it as Asmegin. Anyway, if the official page calls them Ásmegin I guess its ok. -- – sampi (talkcontrib) 04:48, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Language Stersken

[edit]

Dear Godtvisken

I am interested in the language you have created with the name Stersken, for me it seems like a mix of North Germanic languages, and i had no problem understanding your userbox. A google search returns only one result [1]. Did you know that your name in danish means Good whispering

Where does one discuss constructive criticism for Wikipedia?

[edit]

Well, the subject says it all, basically. Where does one do it? I have some points I would like to discuss..

--Godtvisken 01:22, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest the Wikipedia:Village pump or the WikiEN-l mailing list. --  Netsnipe   ►  05:19, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CSD A7

[edit]

CSD is the standard abbreviation for Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. Criterion A7 reads "An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject." It's not impossible I deleted an article under that criterion whose subject was wholly notable, but that this was impossible to know by reading what was present. Circeus 00:30, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What Circeus meant to say is that he is sorry for using wikipedia language that not everyone is familiar with :) and that the content he might have deleted did not describe clearly why it was important enough to be in Wikipedia. If you like to know more wikipedia language take a look at Wikipedia:Glossary. --TheDJ (talkcontribsWikiProject Television) 00:46, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Kim Frank

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Kim Frank. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kim Frank. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Godtvisken! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 859 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Kim Frank - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Notice

The article Echt (band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NBAND

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
