Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Dear Joycejanet: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.

One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!   –BuickCenturyDriver 21:42, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for February 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Marianne Williamson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bellaire High School (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

When you edit this article, please do not remove the review history. We check it. It is there for you to work from and for us to use when reviewing to see whether the changes that are required have been made. It may be that Reid is notable, but, working from the sources you have used as references, unlikely. You need to prove that he is. Fiddle Faddle 08:03, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Joycejanet. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Greg S. Reid".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}or{{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Greg S. Reid}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. TKK!bark with me! 23:47, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

    January 2021[edit]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Frank Shankwitz. Information for articles concerning living or recently deceased people must have references to reliable sources. Thank you. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 10:46, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That makes sense. He just died yesterday so there have not yet been any news articles or obituaries. I'll re-add once I have a credible source for it. Joycejanet (talk) 18:42, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Notice regarding biographies[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
