Hello there, welcome to the 'pedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you need any questions answered about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or drop me a line. BTW, there is a bug in the current software that messes up the contribs link for users that have user names that start with a lowercase letter. Here is a link to your contributions. AfD nomination of Bruce DePalma

[edit]

I have nominated Bruce DePalma, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bruce DePalma. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. THF (talk) 14:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I don't believe I created it, I think I moved it or something. Might have been a mini profile on the Brian DePalma page. I don't care if it's deleted.--Justfred (talk) 20:28, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page

[edit]

I found your old user page while checking out some old edits. I have history merged it, so that all edits are in one place. Hope you don't mind. Graham87 15:39, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Marie Laveau Song

[edit]

The song you were describing on the Marie Laveau talk page is "Marie Laveau" by Dr. John. To me, this sounds like a blues rewrite of the country novelty song "Marie Laveau" by Bobby Bare (written by Shel Silverstein, was a country number one in 1974). Both songs purport to about the "historical" Marie Laveau, Bare's is negative and Dr. John's is positive. I don't think it would be out of line to add them to the page. Both songs illustrate the "Saint"/"Witch" dichotomy of the Laveau legend. There is mention of the original "Marie Laveau" song on the Bobby Bare page, but not on the Laveau page.Lehcarrenee (talk) 00:44, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Lehcarrenee[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to join the Fifteen Year Society

[edit]

Dear Justfred,

I'd like to extend a cordial invitation to you to join the Fifteen Year Society, an informal group for editors who've been participating in the Wikipedia project for fifteen years or more.

Best regards, Urhixidur (talk) 20:46, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Good article reassessment for COBOL

[edit]

COBOL has been nominated for a good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. Z1720 (talk) 15:37, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
